You eat healthy meals (most of the time) and you work out zealously. Now, the pounds are starting to come off. You’re feeling and looking more toned, too– exactly as you hoped. But you’re wondering why, after all this effort, you’re not actually losing fat. Shouldn’t it be dissolving?
Well, a good cardiovascular exercise regime is crucial to losing fat. Walking is one of the best fat burning workouts, but you need to pump it up a bit from your usual pace, especially if you’ve been exercising for some time and the flab isn’t budging.
The solution is to increase the amount of time you exercise each week. If you work out 2 days a week, go to 3. If you jog for 45 minutes, increase it to an hour. Interval training (alternating spurts of vigorous fat burning workouts with spurts of lighter activity) is a great way to lose flab. For example, walk for 5 minutes, then jog for 5, and then repeat. This will burn more fat and more calories overall. If you’re already jogging, then mix it up with some sprinting.
Over time, some of the flab will go, especially if you’re diligent about fat burning workouts and eating properly. Give it several months; your weight might not actually change, but you’ll definitely notice a difference in how your clothes fit.
