You’ve decided to get ready for summer by working with a personal trainer, so you can tone up, lose inches, and drop a few pounds. When you meet with your personal trainer here at In Motion Fitness for the first time, there are a few things you should let them know so you get as much as possible out of your training experience:
- Your goals — One of the most important things you can tell your personal trainer is your goals, whether you want to lose weight, train for a marathon, or build muscle. When your trainer knows what your goals are, they’ll be able to customize your workouts according to what you want.
- Your fitness level– Don’t feel like you have to impress your personal trainer in terms of where you are in your fitness. If you don’t work out much or you work out every day, letting your trainer know where you stand will keep your workouts at a level that’s challenging, but manageable.
- Physical limitations —If you have problems with your knees or shoulders, for example, tell your trainer. Making sure your workouts are safe is just as important as ensuring they’re effective.
- Exercises you like — Whether you like running or lifting weights, it’s okay to let your personal trainer know what types of workouts you like and what ones you don’t like. Of course, you should still be open to trying new things based on your trainer’s suggestions.
